Privacy Policy

The short version: DNC Guard collects only what's needed to help you file complaints. We never sell your data. Everything stays on your device unless you explicitly share it.
1. Who We Are
DNC Guard ("we," "us," or "our") is a mobile application available at dncguard.com that helps consumers identify, document, and report Do Not Call Registry violations. Contact us at: privacy@dncguard.com
2. Information We Collect
Information You Provide Directly
- Profile information: Name, phone number, email address, home address, and state — used to pre-fill complaint forms
- DNC registration data: Which registries you've registered on and when
- Call logs you enter: Phone numbers, dates, times, and notes about violation calls you manually log
Information Collected Automatically
- Device information: Device type, OS version, app version — for technical support
- Usage data: Which features you use — to improve the product
- Crash reports: Anonymized crash data to fix bugs
Information We Do NOT Collect
- We do not access your phone's call log without explicit permission
- We do not record calls
- We do not collect payment card information (handled by Apple/Google)
- We do not collect location data beyond your stated state of residence
- We never automatically contact any government website on your behalf
3. How We Use Your Information
- To pre-fill complaint forms for the FTC, FCC, and state agencies
- To generate small claims court documents on your behalf
- To track your DNC registration status and waiting periods
- To send notifications about violations and deadlines (with your permission)
- To improve DNC Guard's features and fix technical issues
4. How We Share Your Information
We share your information only in these limited circumstances:
- Government agencies: Only when you explicitly file a complaint by tapping the submit button
- Attorney referrals: Only when you tap "Request Consultation" — we share your name, phone, state, and violation summary with the attorney you selected
- Service providers: Stripe for payment processing. Providers are prohibited from using your data for other purposes
- Legal compliance: If required by law to protect our legal rights
We never sell your personal information. Ever.
5. Data Storage & Security
Your profile data is stored locally on your device. We use industry-standard encryption (TLS 1.3) for all data in transit and AES-256 for data at rest.
6. Your Rights
- Access: View all your data through the app's Settings screen
- Delete: Delete your account and all data from Settings → Delete Account
- Opt out: Opt out of analytics in Settings → Privacy
California residents have additional rights under the CCPA. Email privacy@dncguard.com to exercise these rights.
7. Children's Privacy
DNC Guard is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
8. Changes to This Policy
We will notify you of material changes through the app and by updating the "Last Updated" date above.
